Academic Programme Introduction

At BAT, our teachers engage their students with daily opportunities to question, explore, communicate and make sense of the world around them. WE PREPARE GOOD CITIZENS OF THE WORLD.
Each classroom at BAT is a community of learners. BAT students are engaged readers, writers, mathematicians, scientists, social scientists, and artists—all of this while actively demonstrating our BAT Core Values.

Early Years

In Early Years section, children follow the Early Years Foundation Stage programme (EYFS). It sets standards for the learning, development and care of your child from birth to 5 years old. In the British Academy of Tunis, we offer a safe and caring learning environment, with an individualized learning approach allowing for the development of self-esteem, a sense of self-confidence and positive feelings toward learning. Our strength  is that instruction concentrates on facilitating learning through active exploration and interaction with materials, peers and adults.


For primary stage students, we are in the process of implementing the Primary Years Programme (PYP) genuinely designed by IB. The PYP offers an inquiry-based, transdisciplinary curriculum framework that builds conceptual understanding. It is a student-centered approach to education. It reflects the best of educational research, thought leadership and experience derived from IB World Schools.
The PYP has evolved to become a world leader in future-focused education. It is an example of best educational practice globally, responding to the challenges and opportunities facing young students in our rapidly changing world.

Middle School

Middle school students at BAT are in the process of being offered the Middle Years Programme (MYP) created again by the IB educational specialists. The MYP is a challenging framework that encourages students aged 11 to 16 to make practical connections between their studies and the real world, preparing them for success in further study and in life. It is a five-year programme, which can be implemented in a partnership between schools, or in several abbreviated (two, three or four year) formats. The MYP aims to develop active learners and internationally minded young people who can empathize with others and pursue lives of purpose and meaning. The programme empowers students to inquire into a wide range of issues and ideas of significance locally, nationally and globally. The result is young people who are creative, critical and reflective thinkers.

Teaching Approach

Our classes are taught by a team of experienced  teachers  with an advanced level of proficiency in English and many years of experience teaching various stages.
We are committed to doing everything possible, at all stages, to ensure that each and every one of our learners grows and develops as a respectful, thoughtful and enthusiastic lifelong learner.
We offer a rich and diverse educational programme focusing on discovery, refinement and enrichment. Our student-focused teachers have high expectations for their learners and much should be expected of us as well.
